Bernard L. Fahy, 90, of Rockville, husband of Geraldine "Geri" (Girard) Fahy, died Thursday, (February 24, 2000) at Vernon Manor, Vernon.
He was born in Utica, NY, the son of the late Hugh and Margaret (Connolly) Fahy.
Mr. Fahy was the manager of the F.W. Woolworth store in Rockville for 48 years, and was also active in the Civic Association and the Barbershop Singers.
In his retirement, he enjoyed performing with the Singing Seniors and was a member of both the Friday Senior Bowling League, and the Vernon Bowling League.
He also enjoyed playing tennis and golf.
Bernard was a communicant of St. Bernard Church, in past years, he served as lector, and was active in the Married Couple's Club.
Besides his wife of 62 years, he is survived by his daughter, Sister Mary Fahy RSM of New Britain; his sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Lynn Fahy of Ellington; Gerard Fahy of Burke, VA; and Christopher and Carolyn Fahy of Roslindale, MA; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Bernard L. Fahy, Jr.; six brothers and four sisters.
The funeral was held at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, Rockville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernard Church.
