Jim retired as a General Foreman from LTV Steel in East Chicago. He was an active member of Open Bible Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and collecting model trains.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Gordon officiating. Calling will be from 1 p.m. until service on Saturday. Private family internment will be held at the Memory Lane Memorial Park Cemetery in Schererville, IN at a later date.
Survivors include his wife; Janet R. Edwards; children, Yvonne (Bill) Spurgeon and Tina (Doug) Loflid; step-children, Timothy Deskins, Carolyn (Chris) Clancy and Janine (Kurt) Harmon; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Clifton Edwards; mother, Carrie Klein; son, Michael Edwards and two sisters.
