April 7th, 1982 – January, 13th, 2020
Jennifer Lynn Shamburger (37), went home to be with the Lord on January 13th. in San Antonio, Texas.
She was born on April 7th, 1982 at Scott Air Force Base - Belleville, Illinois.
Jennifer attended Etowah High School in Woodstock, Georgia. She graduated with honors.
Jennifer proudly served our country by joining the US Army in 2006. After graduating from Advanced Individual Training she was assigned and deployed with the 10th Mountain Division. She served as a Combat Medic stationed at both the Davis and Ivory Combat Clinics in Kirkuk Province, as well as Tuz Khurmatu Air Base (FOB Bernstein) in Saladin Province, Iraq.
Upon return from deployment, Jennifer served in the medical wing of the US Military Academy West Point, NY.
Jennifer was honorably discharged after completing six years of service and had achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant.
She is survived by:
Melanie Lewis (Mother) & husband Keith Lewis of Woodstock, Georgia
Brad Shamburger (Father) of Racine, Wisconsin
David & Jean Browning (Grandparents) of Marietta, Georgia
Ryan David Lewis (Brother) of Woodstock, Georgia
Wendy Dickinson (Aunt) & husband Robert of McDonough, Georgia
Heather Cooper (Aunt) & husband Bert of Roswell, Georgia
And many other relatives
A private memorial service is planned for Friday, February 7th @ 12:00 noon at Poole Funeral Home in Woodstock, Georgia.
Burial will take place immediately following at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. Jennifer will be given full military honors for her service to our country.
The family is very grateful for the outpouring of love. The many prayers that we have received are a precious gift.
