Jerry Alan Ward, Mayor of Holcomb, lost his battle with cancer Sept. 3, 2015. He is survived by his wife, best friend and love of his life, Tammie (Henson) Ward. Born to Wert and Coyeta (Perkins) Ward, who preceded him in death, also one brother, Doyle Wayne Ward.

He is survived by two sons, Jeff Ward, of Kennett, and Chandler Miller, of Holcomb; one step-son, Shawn Miller, and wife Shawn Denise (Brown) Miller, of Hornersville; two step-daughters: Kellie (Gunnels) Nalley of Holcomb and Kerris Miller of Florida; one grandson, Dillon Nalley, three granddaughters, Destiny Ward, Alyssa Kennedy and Coyeta (Cheyenne) Ward; one great granddaughter: Alexa (Skeeter) Nalley; two great grandsons: Tyson and Jaxon; two very special nieces: Rita (Ward) Hinson and husband David of Paragould, Ark. and Ashley Ward; one special friend: Kit Blanke of St. Louis, Mo.; one brother, Jimmie Ward and wife Polly of Holcomb; and many other family and friends. He leaves behind great friends Ed Barnett and Ray Sawyer and family, who also kept him fighting!

At Jerry's request, no funeral services will be held, instead visitors are welcome to drop by his house and share a good memory of him with family. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the City of Holcomb Kitchen Project.
