Harold Eugene Hayes, 85, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020 in a local hospital.
He was born on February 2, 1934 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Frank and Mildred (Edge) Hayes.

He was a graduate of Heavener High School. He joined the Marine Corps in 1953 and was a veteran of the Korean War. Harold was the senior Vice President of Simmons Bank of Russellville, Arkansas and a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Jean Hayes; a daughter Kimberly Meeks and her husband Bobby of Parker, Colorado; a son, Keith Hayes and his wife Brenda of Alma, Arkansas; a sister, Modena Duncan of Heavener, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Celena, Noah and Brianna Meeks of Parker, Colorado; Jonathan Hayes and his wife Hannah of Fayetteville, AR and Katy Delmedico and her husband Tyler of Tahlequah, Oklahoma and two great grandchildren, Esme and Pax Hayes.

Funeral service is 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel with burial with honors at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
The family will visit with friends on Monday, January 27th from 4-6PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Bobby and Noah Meeks, Jonathan Hayes, Tyler Delmedico, Berry McCormick and David Damron.
