Lawrence T. Berry
ASH GROVE -- Lawrence T. Berry, 72, Ash Grove, died at 5:50 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 1995, in Ash Grove Nursing Home, after a short illness.
Lawrence T. Berry was the last remaining offspring of five children born to Luther and Mamie Berry, and a grandchild of "Uncle" Wallace White, an African-American slave who became a Civil War Legend of gigantic stature.
He was preceded in death by his dear spouse, Wilma "Billie" Berry, and joined in repose by the angelic host. He lived, loved, and labored, in Greene County all of his life.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a faithful servant at Lily Tulip for over 30 years, retiring in 1986.
It can be safely said that he truly loved his Ash Grove and actualized his love by serving as a city father for many a decade.
He leaves behind a host of friends and relatives that span the midwest.
Let us continue to pray for the repose of the soul of servant Lawrence T. Berry that he may enter into that place where sickness and sorrow have fled away.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 1995, in Wilson Brim - Daniel Funeral Home, Ash Grove, with the Revs. Harold T. Mayes and Karl Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Ash Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call today at their convenience in the funeral home.
