Jerald Lee Robinson ‘Jerry Lee’, 81, of Hutchinson, passed away January 21, 2020, at Pleasant View Home, Inman, KS. He was born September 1, 1938, in Hutchinson, KS, to Leland and Betty A. (Teter) Robinson.
Jerry was a 1956 graduate of Buhler High School and was very involved in FFA, receiving his State Farmer Degree in 1955. He married Kathryn J. Franz on November 29, 1957.
Farming was his life. In addition to grain farming, Jerry and his parents operated a dairy farm for many years. He was a partner in K&R Silo Filling, doing custom harvesting in Kansas, Colorado, West Texas and New Mexico. Jerry attended Union Valley Bible Church in Hutchinson, KS.
He supported the community by being on the Buhler High FFA Advisory Board, Upper Little Arkansas River Watershed Board since 1976, and was the Treasurer of the Medora Township Board for over 40 years.
Survivors include: his wife, Kathryn of Hutchinson; sons, Lee Russell (Melissa) of Buhler, KS, and Andrew Allen (Patrick) of Seattle, WA; three grandchildren, Jackson Lee, Clara Grace, and Emmett Scott Robinson of Buhler, KS. Jerry was preceded in death by daughter, Melissa ‘Missy’ Kay Robinson, and his parents.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Union Valley Bible Church, 1916 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS, with Pastor Steve Hodgson presiding. Visitation with the family present will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2020, at Union Valley Bible Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Buhler High School FFA Chapter, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501. The family would like to thank the many medical staff members that assisted Dad in his later years at Hutchinson Clinic, DaVita Dialysis Center, and Serenity Hospice and Home Care.
