JACK RAYMOND SNYDER of Merritt Island, FL died at William Childs Hospice - he was the son of Frank and Treva Snyder of Oklahoma City, OK. Preceded in death by his wife, Gail Smith Snyder and son, Dr James Raymond Snyder, surviving are daughter, Sharon (Roy) Pinette and granddaughter, Jayme Rae (Nicholas) Swanson. Jack was a WWII U.S. Merchant Marine, attended Oklahoma A&M University, earning a BS degree and moved to Arlington, TX where he began his engineering career. The family moved to Cocoa Beach, FL where he worked in aerospace until he retired from Grumman at the Director level. Jack, then, opened The Finders Realty. He saw the need for national connections and brought the first ERA franchise to Brevard County. Jack and Gail, built Merritt Island Commercial Center where it has been a successful small business and warehouse company for 40+ years. Jack began restoring 'Model A' Ford automobiles and his last restoration, a 1930 Model A 2-door Deluxe Phaeton has won every Model A Ford Club (MARC) award in its class. Gail predeceased Jack by eight months, and their urns will be buried for eternity at a graveside service in Georgiana Cemetery (Crooked Mile Cemetery). Published in FLORIDA TODAY January 21, 2020.
