Rayne- Funeral Services will be held for Brenda D. Lyons, 62, at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 24, 2020 in the Duhon Funeral Home-Rayne Chapel with Deacon Byrne Winn officiating. Interment will follow the chapel service and will be in Arceneaux Cemetery in Rayne, LA. Mrs. Lyons passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Acadia General Hospital in Crowley, LA.
Brenda was a native of Crowley, LA, graduated from Crowley High School in 1976 and completed a Nursing Program at Southwest LA Vo-Tech and LSUE and was a practicing LPN for 42 years until her retirement in 2016. She was a loving caring, nurturing mother who took great pride in her sons as well as her grandchildren. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Mardy Lyons of Rayne, LA; children, Marvin Lyons and his wife, Tiffany of Branch, LA, Kevin Lyons and his wife, Courtney of Rayne, LA; grandchildren, Tyson, Ember, and Lillian Lyons whom she greatly adored; brothers, Robert, Edward and Roland Dartez; one sister, Cynthia Dartez Habetz : mother-in-law, Sybil Lyons of Rayne, LA; sister-in-law, Cynthia Lyons of Rayne, LA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, John Donis Dartez and Verdie Meaux Dartez; father-in-law, Hillman Lyons and one brother-in-law, Jeffery Lyons.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Lyons, Marvin Lyons, Robert Dartez, Edward Dartez, Nick Habetz, Ryan Dartez, and Matthew Kimble. Honorary pallbearers will be Roland Dartez and Tyson Lyons.
