This is my great aunt Kay. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Linda Kay Plunkett, 77, Marshfield, Missouri, was born January 17, 1943 to William "Bill" and Lena (Muse) Cleir in Marshfield, Missouri and departed this life for her heavenly home January 20, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joe Paul Cleir; and sister, Maryann McVay.

Kay is survived by her husband, Wayne; daughter, Lisa Martin; son, Jeffrey Plunkett; two grandchildren, Jessica Lawson (Jimmy) and Jason Martin; one great grandson, Tucker Lawson; sister in law, Phoebe Cleir; special sister/friends, Judy and Ellis Young; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Kay graduated from Marshfield High School in 1961. She attended classes at SMS College in Springfield, Missouri. She met her husband, Wayne, while a student at college. Kay worked at the Spur Cafe' in Marshfield during high school and college. Kay and Wayne were united in marriage on July 14, 1962 at the First Baptist Church in Marshfield, Missouri. After getting married they lived in St. Robert/Fort Leonard Wood area for a few months. In October, when Wayne left the Army they moved to Amory, Mississippi. After a few months in Amory they returned to Marshfield. After returning to Marshfield, Kay babysat, worked at MFA Market, and Kraft. Kay went to work for Marshfield Schools in 1976 and retired after serving 31 years at the school. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends at their Table Rock Lake cabin for 28 years.

Kay touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services for Linda Kay Plunkett will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday January 24, 2020 at Day Funeral Home, Marshfield, Missouri with burial in Marshfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2020 in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gideon's International or for classmate Donna Thomas (made payable to Judy Young) and left in care of the funeral home.
