St. George, Utah - Kay Robert Jensen, 85, passed away September 11, 2016 at his home in St. George, Utah. He leaves his wife of 62 years, Virginia Williamson Jensen; his daughters: Leslie (Jensen) Jensen (Bruce, deceased) and Jenni Spjute (Bart); and son, Adam Jensen (Hendy).
Kay was born July 27, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Franklin P. Jensen and Marvel Elise McCleery Jensen. He married Virginia Williamson February 11, 1954 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He leaves behind seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
During the Korean War he served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force 191st Fighter-Bomber Squadron 03-1-1951 to 09-2-1952. He was stationed in Clovis, New Mexico and was responsible for cooking for Pilots and support staff training to fly the new jet fighters.
Kay loved nature and received much pleasure from photographing its beauty. He especially loved visiting the Oregon Coastline and loved the beauty of the red hills of St. George. He was very creative and enjoyed working with his hands. He spent countless hours cutting metal cans and metal objects with a torch and creating works of art. He loved spending his evenings reading books and gaining knowledge found within them.
He enjoyed serving others throughout his life. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and home teacher. He had a strong testimony and love for Jesus Christ and magnified his many church callings..
He will be missed by his family and friends.
