Bennett John Alden Hanna of Allen, Texas passed away on August 4, 2018, at the age of 87. He was born on August 16, 1930, to Alden Ernest Hanna and Eloise Covington Hanna of Martinsville, Texas. Bennett married Doris Baker on July 4, 1953. He was a devoted Christian who taught Bible classes and also preached in small country churches.
Bennett is survived by his wife of 65 years, Doris Hanna, his son Frank Hanna and wife Carrie of Danville, California; his daughter Martha Hanna of Plano, Texas; grandchildren Brad Hanna of Arizona, Rachel Hanna of California, and Jonathan Lara and wife Chloe of Hawaii.
By profession, Bennett was an educator in the public schools where he taught various subjects and worked as a high school principal for 40 years. He spent his life serving others through his church, the Boy Scouts of America, and many other organizations. Bennett was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Marie Hanna; his parents, Alden and Eloise Hanna, and numerous other family members.
