She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Harlan E. Stanley. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy A. Thomas, Ph.D. (Edward), and her son, Jeffrey E. Stanley.
A native of Detroit, Michigan, Dorothy graduated from West Technical High School in 1945, and she soon went to work as a greeting card artist for American Greetings Company. She later worked at the Lindner Company in downtown Cleveland, at Winkleman's in the Parmatown Mall in the millinery department, and as a sales manager in the shoe department. Dorothy was an animal lover, an avid gardener, and a devout Christian.
A private service will be held with interment at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where her husband is buried.
