Tracy McKim Reed, age 57, of Ottumwa passed away January 16, 2020 at MercyOne in Des Moines surrounded by her family. She was born July 2, 1962 to Jack and Shirley (Morehouse) McKim. She was a graduate of Ottumwa High School in 1980. She then worked various jobs in the area, and became disabled after two intensive back surgeries. She stayed as active as she could, and most recently was employed at Douma School as a foster grandma.
Tracy loved being around friends and family, online gaming, going to flea markets and her cat Elvis. She was a fun loving person and loyal to everyone lucky enough to call her their friend. She was a member of Christ’s Church, and had a great fondness to minister Dan. She also shared a special bond with her niece Tabitha Gillespie, and son Jeff’s girlfriend Savannah.
Tracy is survived by a daughter Katie Reed of Agency and son Jeff Nord of Ottumwa, two granddaughters, Layla of Des Moines and Araeya of Ottumwa, three sisters, Kim (Jerry) Paulos of Eddyville, Tammy (Gary) Spears of Bloomfield, and Lori (Larry) Bain of Ottumwa, step mother, Merilee McKim, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Ricky Reed and Justice Nord, brothers Jackie and Tim.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Christ’s Church in Ottumwa with Pastor Dan Smith officiating. Lunch will be served following services. Inurnment will be held at a later date with the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
