Billy Ray Dixon, age 72 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died January 20, 2020 in Somerset, Kentucky at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born in Whitley City, Kentucky on July 25, 1947 the son of William Skylo and Mary (Lynch) Dixon. Billy was a member of the East Appletree United Baptist Church, had worked as a coal miner and logger, loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with is family.
His parents; daughter, Stephanie Dixon; brother, Lincoln Eugene “Blue” Dixon; and sisters, Carol King and Barbara Mann precede him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila (Strunk) Dixon; sons, Tim Dixon (Kathy) and Jerry Dixon (Lindsay) both of Stearns; brother, Bobby Dixon of Whitley City; sisters, Ella Perry of Marshes Siding, Della Stephens of Whitley City, and Tina Hughes of Monticello; grandchildren, Jeremiah Dixon (Lora), Willie Dixon, Katelynn Dixon, and Ashley Dixon; great grandchild, Paisley Dixon; and special friends Janice Walker (Steve Carter), Tony and Shelda Lowe, James and Kilafay Loudermilk, and Carl and Arlene Jones.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 2pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Lowe and Bro. Hilton Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in the Sherd Dobbs Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
