Mr. Pepper married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Stewart, and they were married for almost sixty years. He worked as a farmer and owned his own trucking company, Pepper Trucking, Inc. Having four children with families, he enjoyed their Sunday get togethers where they enjoyed singing around the table, playing dominoes and Rook, and eating homemade ice cream. Riding the four-wheeler was an activity that he thoroughly enjoyed during his retirement. Mr. Pepper attended the United Methodist Church at Bellefontaine, Mississippi.
Mr. Pepper is survived by his wife, Bonnie Lee Stewart Pepper; two sons, Robert Allen (Sheryl) Pepper and James Dale (Peggy) Pepper both of Eupora, Mississippi; two daughters, Cynthia Ann (Rayburn) Hunt of Ackerman, Mississippi and Lana Lee (Allen) Drewrey of Oxford, Mississippi; eleven grandchildren, Jennifer (Brad) Denley, Robin (Austin) Reed, Kimberlee (Matthew) Nicolas, Zoe Hunt, Garrett Hunt, James Austin (Dianne) Pepper, Stephen Pepper, Tanner Pepper, Trey Drewrey, Allison Drewrey, and Haylee Drewrey; two brothers, Jimmy Allen Pepper and Kara Wayne Pepper; and one sister, Nellie Jane Love.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kara and Nellie McKee Pepper; one son, Steven Lee Pepper; and one sister, Billie Lynn Chrismond.
Funeral services for Mr. James Robert Pepper will be Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora, Mississippi. Visitation will be prior to the funeral from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. Officiating for the service is Brother Billy Michael Trull and Brother Martin Cardin. Pallbearers are Mitch Sisson, Pepper Sisson, Austin Pepper, Tyler Denley, Beau Denley, and Colton Reed. Burial will follow at North Union Cemetery in Bellefontaine, Mississippi.
