Ernest Sylvester “ Dick” Price, Sr., age 83, of Montezuma, Georgia passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home with Reverend Ralph Price officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Bertha Dozier Memorial Park.
Mr. Ernest “Dick” Price was born on November 25, 1933 in Vienna, Georgia to the late Ralph Sanford Price, Sr. and Janie Adele Fowler Price. He was a self-employed carpenter and also served in the National Guard for three years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ola Dean Price of Montezuma, GA.; three sons: Ernie Price (Jody) of Perry, GA., Jerry Price (Barbara) of Warner Robins, GA., and Daryl Price (D’anne) of Bonaire, GA.; seven siblings: Adele Crook of Montezuma, GA., Marzelle Peaster of Perry, GA., Ralph Price, Jr., (Viola) of Montezuma, GA., Cleo Price of Americus, GA., Tina Beamon (Jack) of Smithville, GA., Burl Price (Val) of Columbus, GA., and Mike Price (Pam) of Montezuma, GA., one sister-in-law: Hazel Vanzant of Montezuma, GA., eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
