Lenore “Tuffy” Kiefer was born January 30, 1925 to Rev. Dan and Nell Cleveland. She was one of six children with her siblings being Betty Jean, Mary Jane, Donnell, Robert and Claude (Sonny).

She married Louis Kiefer and together they had three children, Dan, Trudy and Denny.

Tuffy, as she was always called, was very active in the family church located in El Monte, California, The Church In The Barn. Even after her parents, Dan and Nell, passed away and the church location was eventually changed, she remained very active in Hope Country Church assisting Pastor Don McKaughan with the radio broadcasts and services.

As life went on, she made her home with her daughter, Trudy, in Palmdale and was very active in her church there, where she continued to regularly teach bible study classes pretty much up until the Lord took her home.

Her Lord and Savior took her home to Heaven to be with her long-departed husband, Louie, on Monday, October 21, 2019 just three days shy of the 35th anniversary of his death on October 24, 1984. She was 94 years old.

Her life is celebrated by all those who knew her; rather than mourn her earthly absence, they rejoice in her heavenly presence. She had survived her five siblings, her dear husband, and all of her oldest friends. There is a reunion in Heaven, and she is surely the life of the party, as ever she was on earth. She was a beacon of joy, reflecting God’s love to each person she met. She never missed an opportunity to share her love for the Lord. She walked with Jesus daily, read the Bible in its entirety multiple times, and led a bible study group at her church.

There was never a problem too big or small that she didn’t think prayer could solve; she was a prayer warrior. Her body became tired near the end of her life, but her faith never did. She was steadfastly loyal to her Lord, her family, and her friends until the very end. Tuffy is survived by her three children, Dan, Trudy, and Denny, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and other family members who loved her very much. She will be missed but never forgotten.

She has been cremated, and there was a memorial celebration held in her honor in early 2020.

Tuffy was a cheerful and generous giver recognizing that God was her Great Provider. This scripture was important to her. “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For the measure you use, it will be measured to you” Luke 6:38.

Aunt Tuffy and my mother in law, Donnell, are sisters. Rest in peace Aunt Tuffy. We will miss you.
