Mr. Van Williams, Jr., 65, of Shubuta, MS passed from this life Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Forrest General Hospital. He was born in Waynesboro, MS on Monday, August 16, 1954 to Van Williams, Sr. and Mary Ella Williams. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Van began his career in the Oil Field 45 years ago. During that time he worked with various companies. He retired from TransOcean as Offshore Installation Manger after 25 years and ended his career with Seadrill as a Drilling Section Leader. Van gave countless young roughnecks a chance, teaching them leadership to build a career in the Oil Field. All who were fortunate enough to have known Van knew him to be a leader, a master turkey and deer hunter, but most of all, a proud father. The world has lost a great storyteller and entertainer- a friend who can never be replaced.

Mr. Van is survived by his wife, Louise Williams, Shubuta, MS; 3 sons, Coty Van Williams, Shubuta, MS, Matthew Houston Williams, Laurel, MS, Paul Williams, Waynesboro, MS; sister, Vanette Evans (Andy), Waynesboro, MS; nephew, John Atkinson (Naomi), Waynesboro, MS; 2 grandchildren, Gavin Houston Williams, Attleigh Saige Williams; several other family members.
