Edris Irene Booth Melton, 82, entered into eternal rest Thursday, May 13, 2004 in Shreveport, LA. Funeral services will be held at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel, Saturday, May 15, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Officiating will be Ric Humphries, associate pastor of First Assembly of God. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Avenue.
Mrs. Melton was born August 28, 1921 in Craft, TX to the late Thomas Trusvan and Allie Mae Booth. She retired from Sears after twenty-two years of service.
There to greet her into the gates of Heaven will be her three brothers, three sisters and her beloved husband, James Taylor Melton.
Left to treasure her memories are her son, James Timothy Melton; daughter Sandra Melton Golden and husband Johnny; sister, Cassie Holmes; sister-in-law, Jacquelyn Ziegler; grandchildren, Amanda Melton Coe and husband, Sean, Lauren Melton, Elizabeth Melton, Zachary Golden and Justin Golden; great-grandchildren, Deagan Eugene Melton and Kaylee Marie Coe; numerous nieces and nephews , whom she loved very dearly.
