January 2020 - Passage. Douglas Kyle Sweet, 72, passed away peacefully January 13, 2020 at Jordan Valley Medical Center in West Jordan, Utah. He was born in Greenville, Virginia July 23, 1947 to Vernon Jones and Kathleen Brown.

Doug was an advertising salesman for various newspapers in small communities in Utah and Evanston, Wyoming. He enjoyed going to the movies as well as the theatre. He loved to travel and see the country as well as trying new foods and restaurants. Doug was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the United States Air Force as an airman during the Vietnam conflict.

Doug is survived by his son; Brent (Jennefer) Sweet, daughter; Kristen (Shaun) Vunder, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and sisters; Denise Foster and Aldene Nielson.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister; Carolyn Miller.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 24, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary in Riverton, 3688 West 12600 South, Riverton, Utah with a viewing from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral.

Interment will be in the Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park, 17111 South Camp Williams Road (1700 West), Bluffdale, Utah.
