Lonnie Russell “Rusty” Hill, Jr., 53, of McRae, passed away January 17, 2020 at St. Vincent’s Infirmary in Little Rock. He was born March 16, 1966 at Little Rock to the late Lonnie Russell Hill, Sr. and Loretta Bolin Hill.
He married Leana Lashlee Hill June 10, 1989 at McRae who survives. He is also survived by one son, Matt Hill of San Antonio, Texas and a grandson, Gunner Hill; as well as numerous friends.
Rusty graduated from McRae High School and attended Trinity Pentecostal Church of God in Higginson. He volunteered with the McRae Fire Department for over 26 years as a firefighter and serving a term as their fire chief. He was also a first responder for the McRae community for many years until his health failed. Rusty never met a stranger and enjoyed helping his community. He enjoyed spending time with his son, hunting and fishing.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Sullivan Funeral Care. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Sullivan Memorial Chapel with burial following at Antioch Cemetery near Beebe.
