Mrs. Phoebe Benton, widow of the late O.N. Benton, died at 3:30 o'clock this morning at the home of her only daughter, Mrs. Tracy R. Page in the town of Groton. Her age was 78 years. All of the life of the deceased had been spent in Groton and McLean. She is survived by the daughter referred to and by two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Emily LeMott of McLean, Mrs. Sophia Backus of Groton, Jack Mix of McLean and David Mix of Belfast. The funeral will be held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Page, in Groton Sunday at 2 p.m. and will be attended by Rev. U.S. Milburn of Cortland. Burial in McLean.
