A Bristol resident for over 70 years she was the beloved wife of Kenneth W. Bryant for the last 35 years.
Joyce was the daughter of the late Dennis and Mary (Alves) Souza.
Before retiring Joyce worked for several local companies such as American Tourister, Royal Diversified Products, St. Elizabeth's Nursing Home, Barrington Construction Company, and Stop & Shop. Her hobbies included writing historical fiction, cooking, and following politics. Her love for politics drove her to run for election as the Rhode Island State Representative for Bristol on two occasions. Joyce was also an active parishioner at St. Mary's Church of Bristol for 40 years.
In addition to her husband Joyce is also survived by her daughters, Coralee D. Lazebnikova (Alexander) and Kendra Bryant. Her memory will also live on through her two grandchildren Dmitry and Anastasia. She also leaves behind a brother Dennis R. Souza, Jr. and numerous friends.
Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Mary's Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol.
