Dorothy Ann Catlett Payne, 74, died at 11:33 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020, in Hopkinsville.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Vernon Milner officiating.

Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Gamble Funeral Home with O.E.S. Rites.

A native of Pembroke, she was born Jan. 21, 1945, the daughter of the late Jessie Daniel Catlett and Lena Mae Dudley Catlett.

She was a retired LPN at Western State Hospital. She was a member of the bowling league, Eastern Star, Daughter of Isis, Golden Circle (Masons) and a foster parent for over 25 years.

She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church where she was a member of the usher board, choir, culinary committee, mothers board, deaconess, Sunday school teacher as well as district usher and former president of the First District ushers.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Phillip Payne, Hopkinsville; her children, Tamara "Tammy" (Tim McKnight) Payne, Hopkinsville, Erika Payne (Walter) Saunders, Fort Bragg, N.C., Gary Payne, Frankfort, Jason "Jody" Smith, Atlanta; her stepdaughter, Theressa Johnson, Hopkinsville; her brothers, Emmett (Barbara) Catlett, the Rev. William (Yvonne) Catlett, Andra (Clarissa) Winters, Kenneth Catlett, Charles (Fredia) Catlett, all of Hopkinsville; her sisters, Lula Beard, Detroit, Wanda (Marvin) Dunner, Columbia, S.C., Gloria (John) Earthman, Hopkinsville; her foster child, Khristine Gaskin, Clarksville; and six grandchildren.
