Wilken Kohnke was born on March 16,1836 in Fahernforf, Germany, the son of Hinrich and Anna Christine (Kriete) Koenke. He died on February 3, 1910 in Cole Camp, Missouri at the age of 73. Burial was at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, on the north end of Cole Camp, Missouri. He married Geshe Meyer on July 27, 1860 in Bremerverde, Germany. Geshe was born on March 10,1837 in Fahernforf, Germany and died on March 28, 1908 in Cole Camp, Missouri at the age of 71. She is buried next to him at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.
