He was the son of the late Howard F. and Dorothy (Ritchey) Himes of Blair County.
He was retired ruual mail carrier in the Duncannon area and was also retired from the former Pennsylvania Railroad/Penn Central. More recently he was an employed Boyer Funeral Home. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Arie 1299 of Carlisle. He loved NASCAR and bowling.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Lois (Zimmerman) Himes; two sons, Michael J. Himes of Newport, and Joel H. Himes of Duncannon; two daughters, Heidi J. Barnour of Marysville, and Suellen M. Morrison of Duncannon; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister.
Services were held at the Boyer Funeral HOme, Duncannon. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
