Upon being graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Detroit as a Registered Nurse she enlisted in the United States Army Nursing Corps. When she was stationed in Puerto Rico, she met and married Major Arthur Edwards Cole. After the war, the couple lived in West Haven, CT, Wadsworth, OH and Portage, MI. She continued her professional career in Wadsworth and the Kalamazoo area, working in hospitals, as a private duty nurse and as a volunteer for the Red Cross.

She was predeceased by her parents, Peter Paul Ceglarek and Mary Magdaline Kolanek Ceglarek; her brothers, Otto Ceglarek (1896-1973), Alphonse Ceglarek, Wallace Ceglarek, and Peter Ceglarek; her sisters, Ludwika "Lou" Marie Ceglarek Peacock (1906-1991), Wanda Ceglarek Tebinka, and Marie Ceglarek Lech; her husband, Arthur Edwards Cole; and her granddaughter, Gwendolyn Cole. She was survived by a son and his spouse; two daughters; a son-in-law; a grandson; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews and great-grandnieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at Redmond Funeral Home, Kalamazoo, MI. Her funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, October 31, 2013, at St Monica Church, followed by interment at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI.
