Kenneth M. Adkins, 90, of Waynesville, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2020 at Autumn Care of Waynesville, surrounded by his loving family.

A native of West Virginia, Kenneth had made Waynesville his home for the past 23 years and was a member of New Hope Church of God. He was the son of the late Lucian and Rosa Adkins. Kenneth retired after 41 years of service from Columbia Gas. He was a peaceful and hard-working man who had a love for the outdoors, traveling, and singing. Kenneth loved his church and his family dearly. He was a faithful servant and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eva Dean White-Adkins; son, Joel Adkins, grandson, Scotty Branam; his son-in-law Orville Branam; and 10 siblings.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Doyle Midkiff Adkins; children, Linda (Buddy) Vance and Raymona Branam; step children, Betty (Will) Porter, Charlotte (Tom) Frye, and Jack (Melissa) Midkiff; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; very special brother, George H. Adkins of Kingwood, WV; along with many friends and extended family.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Smoky Mountain Cremations and Funeral Service.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Chapmanville, WV with Reverend Bobby Burns officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, January 21, 2020 from 6:00-9:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home. Burial will follow services at Midkiff Cemetery in Branchland, WV.
