Mrs. Johnnie Melton Franklin, age 72, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2020, at the Sunshine Health and Rehab Facility in Pontotoc after an extended stay. She was born August 16, 1947 in Vardaman to the late parents of Johnny Melton and Dora Hardin Melton. Johnnie enjoyed cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted homemaker and would occasionally take time to go fishing to relax and enjoy God's nature.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin Franklin; daughter, Sandra Cain; sons, Steve Franklin, Tony Franklin, David Franklin; sisters, Emma Jean Ward, Etoyle Mason, Ann Newman; brothers, Charles Melton, Jimmy Melton; and a grandson, Tony Woodall.

She is survived by daughters, Judy (Jack) Terry, LaVernia, TX, Stacy (Scott) Duncan, Anderson, SC; sons, Danny Franklin, Sarepta, James (Paula) Franklin, Oxford, Brian (Mary) Franklin, Oxford; sisters, Betty Fleming, Derma, Tot Edmondson, Vardaman; son-in-law, Tommy Cain, Bruce; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren , nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, January 20, 2020 at the funeral home from 5:00P.M. until 8:00P.M. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00P.M., with Bro. Pete Gregory officiating in the service. Burial will be in Carey Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chase Clements, Josh Corking, Perry Mason, Michael Stevens, Mitch Ward and Chris Woodall.
