A native of Prospect Hill in Caswell County, he was the son of a tobacco farmer, A.G. Rudd and Carrie Elizabeth Solomon Rudd, both deceased.
He was the youngest of nine children. Larry served in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Duke fan.
He is survived by three sons; Larry Robin Rudd of Graham, Mark Rudd and his wife Denise of Snow Camp and Timothy Rudd of Burlington; six grandchildren, Kristin, Hayden, Brad, Makayla, Jared and Matthew Rudd; one Great grandson, Jayden Chatman and two sisters; Geraldine Warren and Bertha “Kitten” Riddle.
Larry was preceded in death by a very special friend, Mary Bodenheimer.
