Ella Jean Roberts, age 82 of Salem died Friday, January 17, 2020. She was born April 17, 1937, daughter of the late William Edward and Mary Elizabeth Stover Farris. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Curtis L. Farris and Jack G. Farris; sisters, Edna L. Carroll, Lois G. Farris and Martha E. Roop.
She is survived by her son, Michael R. King and wife Deanna; daughter, Donna Wells and husband Billy; special grandson, Jeremy Dixon; step-son, Bobby Roberts; brothers, Clarence Farris and wife Esther and Russell Farris and wife Janie; sisters, Charlotte Hall, Sue Reedy and husband Larry and Cathy Carter; many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Oakey’s North Chapel with Pastor John Ferguson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 20, 2020 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey’s North Chapel.
