Jeffrey P. Dunn, 70, of Hummelstown, passed away Friday, January 17, 2020, in the Hershey Medical Center.

Born in Pompano, CA, on March 8, 1949, he was the son of the late Francis and Thelma Metz Dunn.

Jeff was the former Beverage Manager of the Hotel Hershey; worked for the government; and was the co-owner of the former J&H Exxon Gas Station, Hummelstown.

He was an U.S. Army veteran having received the Purple Heart and an accommodation for his brave service in the Vietnam War.

Jeff was a member of the American Legion Post 265 where he served as past Commander, Vice Commander and Trustee; charter member of the American Legion Riders Chapter 265; and the former Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1687, all of Hummelstown.

He was also a member of the Steelton-Swatara Lodge #775, F&AM.

Jeff was an avid golfer and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

The lead singer of the former New Coalition, Jeff loved entertaining people with a song or telling a story or two.

Jeff was preceded in death by his brother, Barry Dunn, his sister, Laurel Vodanovich, and a nephew, Mark Vodanovich.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Janice M. Zimmerman Dunn, whom he married on May 23, 1982; three sons, Jeffrey P. Dunn, Jr, of Hershey; Ryan S. Allwein husband of Tammy of Jonestown, and Christopher Richard husband of Heather of Ellicott City, MD; one daughter, Tina Dunn of Lykens; four grandchildren, Tana Dunn, Hailey Richard, Eric Richard, and Tiffany Allwein; one great-granddaughter, Raelynn Mathias; a brother-in-law, William Zimmerman; a sister-in-law, Linda Dunn; nieces and nephews, Christopher Dunn husband of Gina, Donna Dunn, Christopher Vodanovich husband of Kelly, Georgina Vodanovich widow of Mark, Gina Gigliotti wife of Anthony, and Ann Leone wife of Louie; and his beloved Westies, Molly and Murphy. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 24, 2020, at 1 PM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Friends are invited to call for a viewing in the funeral home on Thursday, January 23, 2020, from 6 to 8 PM, and Friday from 12:00 Noon until time of the services. Rev. Dr. Norman C. Marks, pastor of the Mountain View Bible Church, Hummelstown, officiating.

Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
