Doris Lucretia Griffin, 87 of Decatur, died Tuesday, January 14, 2020 in her residence.

She was born November 20, 1932 in Decatur. She’s looking forward to her husband, mom and dad, four grandparents (whom she never got to meet), her sisters, Daisy and Linda who died when she was just a baby, also her two brothers, Melvin and Jack Patterson, and sister-in-law, Jack’s wife Mildred. She knows they are all waiting for her in heaven.

She and her husband, Douglas were married in Decatur in March of 1951. They were married for fifty-six years. He passed away in December of 2007 after several years of being ill. Doris and Doug had six beautiful children, Kay (Mike) Coppenbarger, Pam (Mike) Auton, Douglas (Debbie) Griffin, Debbie (Lloyd) McQueen, of Decatur, Rick (Glenda) Griffin of Querta, New Mexico, Chad (Julie) Griffin of Decatur.

She leaves one brother, Darrel Munyon of Decatur; one sister, Dixie Cain of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one sister-in-law, Peggy Kirk of New York; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Doris like to be busy and was a volunteer at the Macon County Senior Center and at HSHS St. Mary’s. She liked to go rummaging and thrifting.

Inurnment will follow at North Fork Cemetery.
