Gene Laurel Benson, 74, of Greenback, Tennessee, originally from Alexandria, Minnesota, passed away on April 11, 2018 at home surrounded by family and friends.
Gene loved God, his wife, family and country and he loved and served them with passion and commitment.
He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Air Force.
He retired from Tennessee Valley Authority – TVA and was a loving, active member of Monte Vista Baptist Church. Gene touched lives far and near with his kindness, generosity, humble spirit and love.
His memory will be cherished by his wife of 52 years, Donna; his sons & daughters-in-law, Shane & Gina Benson and Joel & Wendy Benson; Grandchildren, Joseph, Aaron, Jacob, AnnaMarie, Samuel, Shepherd, Minnie, Lottie, Judith and Clay; Siblings, Audrey Gustafson, Wayne Benson, and his twin sister, Joan Masteller and their respective spouses and families.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Monte Vista Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Mantooth officiating. Visitation will follow until 5:00 PM. Interment will be private.
