David A. Fulkerson, 67, of Streator passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020 at The University of Chicago Medical Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.

Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Tuesday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Born June 24, 1952 in Streator he was the son of Raymond and Rosemary (Kudrick) Fulkerson. He married Nancy Vargovcik on July 20, 1973 at St. Stephen’s Church, Streator.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Fulkerson of Streator; sons, Allen (Kathy) Fulkerson of Austin, Texas and Kevin (Ashley) Fulkerson of Birmingham, Alabama; grandchildren, Logan, Spencer, Keegan and Declan Fulkerson; a brother, Raymond (Kathy) Fulkerson of Streator; and his mother in law, Marilyn Vargovcik of Streator.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his father in law, Michael “Mick” Vargovcik.

Raised in Streator he attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and graduated from Woodland High School in the class of 1970. He also received his Associates Degree from Illinois Valley Community College.

He worked for many years for G.E. Plastics/SABIC until his retirement in 2016.

He was formerly a member of the Streator Lions Club and had served as the Club President. He was also a member of the George A. Dzuryo Knights of Columbus Council # 790.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife and their friends through the years particularly taking many cruises. They had taken cruises from the Panama Canal to Alaska and all places in between.

The most important thing to Dave was his wife, children and grandchildren and spending quality time with all of them. He will be sadly missed by his loving family.

Memorials may be directed to the IMD Guest House Foundation where he and Nancy stayed during his stem cell transplant.
