Richard was born in St. Paul, Minnesota to Henry and Flora Cramer. He attended elementary school in St. Paul, and was proud to receive his GED in 1981. He enlisted in the US Army in 1952 and served during the Korean Conflict. Richard lived in St.Paul, Afton and Chisago City before retiring to Mora.
He was married to Adelia I.E. Schrade in June of 1957 and married JoAnn Wills in June of 1988. Richard was a forklift driver and elevator operator for 3M for 42 years. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and DAV.
Richard loved a game of cribbage or horseshoes and enjoyed gambling when he got the chance. His favorite TV shows were war movies, westerns and gameshows. He liked walking for exercise and could often be spotted doing laps at Coborns. He liked to cook and made awesome homemade pickles and sauerkraut. He enjoyed his routine of heading to the bar and socializing with his friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Henry in 1936, his mother Flora in 1985, his wives Adelia in 1993 and JoAnn in 2013, twin children in 1959, his sisters; Flossy, Audrey, Mary and Alice, and brothers; Warren, Joe and Edward.
Richard is survived by his son, Richard H. (Nancy) Cramer, grand-daughters Sarah Mazzoni and Emily Cramer all of Bloomington, Minnesota, his sister Nancy Mills of Alexandria, Minnesota and brother Bobby McKnight of St. Paul, Minnesota.
There will be a Visitation on Monday, January 20, 2020 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM with a Time of Sharing at 6:30PM at the Dresser Methven Funeral Home.
