Billie Jean Turner, age 83, of Roswell, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. Billie, who was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, was lovingly referred to as Mema.
Services are presently scheduled for Tuesday, January 21st, 2020 at 10:00 AM, at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will immediately follow at South Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of LaGrone Funeral Chapel honoring Billie Jean.
Billie Jean Turner was born on April 24, 1936, in Dogwood, Alabama, to James Virgil Trott, Sr. and Jean Trott.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Virgil Trott Jr. She is reunited in heaven with her husband Ray Turner, and her daughter, Yvette Parker, who also preceded her in death.
Billie Jean Turner is survived by her four living children, Marilyn Turner, Randy Turner with his wife Debbie of Texas, Terri Finch with her husband Gary of Dexter, and Daniel Ray Turner with his wife Nancy of Roswell. She also leaves her twelve grandchildren, Jimmy Hill with his wife Natalie of Albuquerque, Casey Attar with her husband Sayeed, Jenny Nobles with her husband Tyler, Leslie Turner and Abby Shaw of Texas, Dallas Tuttle with his wife Jennifer and Damon Tuttle with his wife Andrea of Dexter, Kathleen Garcia with her husband Jason and Danielle Turner of Roswell, Scott Montgomery with his wife Erin and Chrissy Smith of Roswell, and Lacey Parker of California, and numerous great grandchildren. The family is eternally grateful to Jim McDevitt, her true friend.
Billie was a faithful servant to the Lord. Her passion was to be giving, and she always prayed for those she recognized were in need. She loved her garden and would sit many hours feeding the birds and turtles. She loved her family and adored her children and great grandchildren. She was an active member at the First United Methodist Church and was part of the church choir, the Silver Chords. Always well dressed and ever elegant, she was our southern bell. She will be forever in our hearts and will be missed.
Pallbearers will be Damon Tuttle, Dallas Tuttle, Jimmy Hill, Scotty Montgomery, Jason Garcia and Gary Finch.
