Judith Mary Lenzmeier Howard, a true and faithful servant of the Lord, loving wife and mother, devoted grandmother, successful and dedicated business executive, entered into eternal life on December 11, 2002, after a courageous 40-month battle with cancer.

Judith Mary Lenzmeier was born on June 30, 1941, the daughter of Frank S. and Marjorie L Miller Lenzmeier, in Breckenridge, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Catholic Church in Wahpeton, ND, and attended St. John's Grade School, Wahpeton High School, the North Dakota State School of Science, and continued education in her field.

She married Richmond Clark Howard April 7, 1979, in Las Vegas, NV.

Before retiring, she was employed for 35 years in the telecommunications industry and retired as Vice-President of Operations for Centel, the company which became Sprint.

In addition to her husband and her mother, she is survived by sons: Todd Stoneking and wife, Christine; Steven Howard and wife, Violet; Mark Howard, and Colin Howard and wife, Dawn; also by Lisa Howard and husband, Wade York. Judith considered her daughters-in-law as daughters.

She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Gene F. Lenzmeier and his wife, Marilyn, and Frank R. Lenzmeier and his wife, Darla; six sisters: Joanne (Lenzmeier) Cahill; Marjorie (Lenzmeier) Glover and her husband, Doug; Kathleen (Lenzmeier) Creighton and her husband, Robert; Michelle S. Lenzmeier; Melanie (Lenzmeier) Oberg and her husband, Lynn, and Lee Ann (Lenzmeier) Folden and her husband, Paul; nine nieces and 16 nephews; 14 great-nieces and 18 great-nephews; one great-great-neice and two great-great-nephews, numerous cousins, and a very special friend and business associate, Pam Dawson, of Westminster, CA.

Judith was a kind, compassionate and beautiful woman who possessed great strength and courage. She inspired and encouraged those in her presence. Her personal faith and walk with Jesus was shared with others she met during her illness and treatments. She will be greatly missed by all who were privileged to know her.

A service was held on December 13, 2002, in Palm Springs, CA, where private visitation and inurnment were under the direction of Palm Springs Mortuary in Cathedral City.

There will be a private service in Wahpeton in January 2003. On Saturday, January 11, 2003, the 5:30 pm Mass at St. John's Catholic Church in Wahpeton, ND, will be a special intention in memory of Judith Mary (Lenzmeier) Howard.
