Hazel Alexander 95, of Columbus, formerly of Franklin, died at 6:55 p.m. Monday, Aug.17, 1998, at Miller's Merry Manor at Hope.
She was a graduate of Edinburgh High School and was a retired head operator for Indiana Bell Telephone in Edinburgh.
Graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rest Haven Cemetery, with the Rev. Byron Fritz officiating. There will be no calling.
Arrangements were made by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home.
Mrs. Alexander was born in Brown County Dec. 31, 1902, the daughter of William and Emma Wray Wirey. She married Thomas Alexander April 10,1946. He died in 1978.
She is survived by a sister Violet Hinkle of Greensburg.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Hazel (Wirey) Alexander, 95, died Monday, Aug. 17, 1998, at Miller's Merry Manor in Hope. She was a resident of Columbus and a former resident of Franklin.
She was born Dec. 12, 1902. Her parents were William and Emma (Wray) Wirey. She married Thomas Alexander on May 10, 1946. He preceded her in death in 1978. She is survived by a sister, Violet Hinkle of Greensburg. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
She was a graduate of Edinburgh High School and was employed as a head operator for Indiana Bell in Edinburgh.
The Rev. Byron Fritz will conduct graveside services at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Arrangements are being handled by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.
