Billie Jerrell Harris 68, of Munday, Texas passed away peacefully on
January 10, 2020. Billie was born on February 26, 1951 in Graham, Texas
to Lola Faye Melton Harris and William Edgar Harris.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Michelle Myers Nunez.
Billie is survived by his children Gina (Benjamin) Zapata, Jason Harris,
Kourtnee Harris and Jenna McFerran; grandchildren Jared Hutchens,
Jessica (Eric) Sanchez, Juleigh Walker, Jacob Walker, Andrew Zapata,
Christian Zapata, Brandon Harris, Zoe Harris, Ava Harris, Joslynn Harris,
Braden Garza, Aiden Garza, Ander Harris; and great-grandchildren Kason
Hutchens and Hudson Vasquez; sisters Vickie (Bobby) Dobbs, Christy
Myers, Pat (Ray) Madden; brothers Rocky (Rickie) Myers, Troy (Peggy)
Myers, and numerous nieces and nephews, and his Aunt Robbie Michael.
Billie was a graduate of Goree High School and attended Cisco Junior
College, Amarillo College and Midwestern State University. Billie proudly
served in the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army from
January 1972 to December 1974. He worked at the North Central Texas
Municipal Water Authority for several years then returned to the oilfield
where he remained until he retired. Billie enjoyed fishing, hunting, and
being outdoors. DeDad is best remembered by his grandchildren for
adventures, building treehouses & swings, digging tunnels, fishing trips,
making noodles, telling stories and his ability to fix anything.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Goree
School in Goree, Texas under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home.
