David Lee Meyers, 66, of Norman, went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2020, after a long illness. He was born November 17, 1953, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Rose and Harry Meyers. Dave grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, where he graduated from East High in 1972. He married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Schoen, on October 6, 1973. Together, they had two sons. Dave worked for Safeway as a Meat Department Manager. When Safeway closed the Iowa Division, he moved his family to Oklahoma. Dave worked for Safeway/Homeland and finally went to work for Warehouse Market where he was a Meat Department Manager until he retired in 2013.

Dave remarried on February 21, 1986, to his wife Carla, and together they shared a life with their children and grandchildren. Dave loved to coach the boys in baseball and football. The neighbor children always came to the house to play with the boys and Dave. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing and going dancing with his wife.

After fighting his illness for six years, Dave said when it was time to go, he felt at ease. He felt he had done everything he was put on this earth to do. Dave loved his family and will be greatly missed.

Dave is survived by his wife of 33 years, Carla Meyers; three sons, Matthew Meyers and wife Angie of Moore, Scott Meyers and wife Amy of Mustang, Chris Jennings and wife Tamara of Norman; his mother, Rose White and Ed of Montezuma, Iowa; brother, Larry Meyers and wife Bonnie of Malcolm, Iowa; sister, Diane Barrett and husband Bob of Wichita Falls, Texas; six grandchildren, Anne Jennings and wife Heidi of Norman, Alek Meyers, Paisley Meyers both of Moore, Elijah Meyers of Mustang, and Landon Jennings and Logan Jennings both of Norman; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Meyers; sister, Sherry Reigle; grandparents, Hiram Meyers, Stella and Nyle Lovell, Orville and Alice Riley.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm on Friday, January 17, 2020, at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 18, 2020, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Norman.
