Gary John Workman "Scooter", 64, of Muskegon, Michigan, passed away from natural causes on January 10, 2020 with his family by his side.


Gary was born to George and Joan (Soful) Workman on July 30, 1955.


He had 20+ years of service for Muskegon Recreation Club.


He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving during the Vietnam War.


Gary is survived by his loved one, Nora Martinez; children, Josephine (Brett) Rutledge (Daughter of Gary and Joi Kopka), Arleigha Zimmer (Daughter of Gary and Tery Lieffers (Orville Nichols) and Aaron Workman (Son of Gary and Tish Arthur); siblings, Claudette (Don) Johnson, Joseph Bandock, Janina (Dan) MacNab, John (Joyce) Bandock; many nephews and nieces that were special to him; 5 grandsons, Jayden, Nicholas, Trevor, Danny and Colton; 2 granddaughters, Berlyn and Olivia. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Dolores Dunn.


Gary loved his family and friends deeply.


He was one of a kind and irreplaceable.


Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday January 18, 2020 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 2929 McCracken St. Interment will follow at St. Marys Cemetery, along with Military Honors at the USS LST 393 (560 Mart St).


The family invites you to a funeral luncheon held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 2355 W. Sherman Blvd. following the military honors. 


The family of Gary wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the staff at Hackley Hospital – every one of you went above and beyond.
