Born Oct. 9, 1943, in Huntingdon, he was the son of Franklin T. Jr. and Mary Ruth (Hollibaugh) Wilson. He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara A. Emigh, Aug. 8, 1965. Mrs. Wilson survives at home.
Also surviving are children, Carolyn S. Ardrey and husband, Troy, and Franklin M. Wilson and wife, Maria, all of Huntingdon; five grandchildren, Sara Wilson, Augusta, Georgia, and Kelly Ardrey, Dalton Ardrey, Mark T. Wilson and Barbara C. Wilson, all of Huntingdon.
A sister, Sandra Hancock, Belleville, also survives.
Mr. Wilson was of the Protestant faith.
He served in the U.S. Army from August 1961 to June 1964 as a Tech 4.
Mr. Wilson was a member of the Mount Moriah Lodge 300, F&AM.
He was a 1961 graduate of Huntingdon Area High School.
Mr. Wilson worked as at SCI Huntingdon as a guard with the rank of sergeant, retiring in October 1999.
He collected antique cars and owned a fleet of military vehicles. He enjoyed traveling with his wife in their motorhome, especially to Alaska.
He loved Huntingdon, Penn State and Pittsburgh sports teams and local athletic events in which his grandchildren participated.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon, with the Rev. Georgetta “Cookie” Hartley officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15 and Thursday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.
