Patricia Ann Parr, 93, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away December 27, 2019. Funeral services are 10:30 am Monday January 6th at Meyers Blue Springs Funeral Chapel, with a visitation preceding the services 9:30 – 10:30 am. Burial will be in Blue Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Blue Springs Historical Society.
Patricia Ann Parr was born April 25, 1926 to Ewing Alonzo Davis and Nadine O’Connell Davis, of Blue Springs, Missouri. Shortly after her birth, her parents divorced and she and her mother went to live with her grandparents, John Thomas O’Connell and Creola O’Connell in Grain Valley, Missouri. There she resided until her marriage to Stayton Parr on October 31, 1948. He preceded her in death on July 22, 1999. To this union was born Janet Ruth Parr on March 5, 1950. She died on January 6, 1973.
After living in the Fairmount area of Independence, Missouri for 12 years, Pat and Stayton moved to Blue Springs where they continued to reside. Pat was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs, the Blue Springs Historical Society, VFW Auxiliary Post 6603, Rural Electrification Association, and was a Life Member of the City Clerks and Finance Officers Association of Missouri.
She worked for the R4 School District for 6 years and was City Collector for the city of Blue Springs, retiring in October 1981. Since that time she dedicated her life to helping others as a volunteer for St. Mary’s Hospital, Blue Springs Board of Zoning Adjustments and the Blue Springs Historical Society. She and her husband provided scholarships at Blue Springs and Grain Valley High Schools for deserving students. She was a friend to many of which you are one.
