Obit: Lee Hobson Armentrout, 94, of Natural Bridge passed away Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, in Rockbridge County.
He was preceded in death by his sons, James Lee and Charles Edward Armentrout; parents, Howe Edward and Irene Beckner Armentrout; three brothers; and three sisters.
Lee was a life member of the High Bridge Presbyterian Church, where he served as deacon and elder. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Lee farmed his family farm in Natural Bridge all of his life. He retired from Burlington Industries after 25-plus years and then served as the farm manager for Natural Bridge for over 20 years. Mr. Armentrout was an Army veteran of World War II.
Lee is survived by his wife of 74 years, Audrey Pruett Armentrout; three children, Violet A. Vest and husband Sam of Natural Bridge, Carol Tolley and husband David of Natural Bridge, and Connie A. Powell and husband Roy of Natural Bridge; and daughter-in-law, Alecia Armentrout of Glasgow; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held Tuesday, Dec. 3, at High Bridge Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jason Grimes officiating. Burial was private.
