Jerry Martin Matheny, 81 of Searcy, Arkansas, formerly of Sioux City, Iowa was called home on January 14, 2020.

Born January 10, 1939, in Cairo, Illinois, to Hazel (Angel) and Charlie Matheney, he was raised in Searcy, Arkansas.
Jerry served in the United States Air Force until 1959. His last post was Sioux City, Iowa Air Force Base where he met and married his wife, Patricia. They were married on May 1, 1959 at Glendale Baptist Church and they celebrated sixty years of marriage.
In 1988 Jerry and Pat relocated to Searcy, Arkansas to care for his parents.

Jerry worked in structural steel industry over 50 years making friends and earning the lovable name Grandpa. After retirement Jerry spent 10 years as a White County Deputy Sheriff and Court Bailiff. Everyone Jerry met was a new friend.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Pat; son Terry Matheny of Sioux City, Iowa, daughters, Tamara Jenkins of Searcy, Arkansas, and Michele Kimberling, of Bald Knob, Arkansas, sister, Mary Pat (John) Taylor of Omaha, Nebraska and brother, Ronald (Donna) Matheney of Grand Prairie, Texas, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and numerous beloved pets.

Visitation is Friday, January 17, 2020 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Service is Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 1:00pm at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Gum Springs Cemetery, Searcy, Arkansas.
