Mary (Helen) Blankenship, 86, of Crawley passed away on January 12, 2020 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.
Born on December 9, 1933, she was the daughter of Howard Blankenship and Almeda Boggs.
Helen was preceded in death by a son, Glen Allen McClung; granddaughter, Michelle Goins; grandson, Jonathan Deitz; 2 brothers, Charles Blankenship and Arlie Hefner; 3 sisters, Wanda Blankenship, Elzie Blankenship and Renee Lohman.
Surviving children are Kirby Blankenship (Georgeann ), Shelby Goins ,Debbie Elmore (Jessie ) ,Creta Meadows (James), Cathy Blenden, Crystal Deitz and Melanie Garner; brothers, Gary Blankenship, Terry Hefner, Steve Hefner; sisters, Neoma Taylor, Wilma Hoog, Charolette Hill and Sharon Herndon; 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Helen was a true Christian and loved the Lord. She spent many hours listening and watching gospel shows. She loved to read and quilt. She spent many years as a caregiver to others as well as her own children. Our mother was and always will be a remarkable lady to her children, grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She welcomed everyone into her home with a warm smile and the words “I love you” when you left.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Lionel Garner, Will Garner, Christopher Deitz, Adam Elmore, Zach Hamrick and Marshawn Man.
Service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 17, 2020 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle with Mr. Bruce Lilly officiating. Burial will follow at the Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call 6-8 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
