Karen Jean Crawford, 67, of Grinnell died December 21, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Karen was born on July 18, 1950, in Grinnell, the daughter of Earl Samford Asp and Violet Eva Sutten Asp. She was raised in Gilman and attended school in the Gilman School District.

On March 2, 1983, she married Delbert Duane Crawford, in Grinnell. The couple lived in Grinnell and she was employed with several businesses including DeLongs Sportswear, Rock Creek Athletics, and Windsor Manor.

Karen loved socializing with family and friends, and playing computer games. She enjoyed camping and trout fishing.

She is survived by her husband, Delbert of Grinnell; two children, Laura (Richard) Stevens of Marshalltown and Michael Bown of Iowa City; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Jerry (Renee) Asp of Wisconsin; and several other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandchild, Tosha Stevens.
