Mrs. Mate B. Thomas, wife of Harve P. Thomas, died at her home 1611 Second avenue SE, at 12:30 p.m. Friday following a prolonged illness. She was born Aug. 2, 1860, at Red Oak, near Mechanicsville.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Presbyterian church of Mechanicsville and the Woman's club of Des Moines and the P.E.O. of Des Moines. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Henry M. Files, of Cedar Rapids, three sons, Carl D. Thomas of Cedar Rapids, Harold S., of Des Moines and Earle of Los Angeles, Calif.
